The District of Lakeland boasts crystal clear lakes, wonderful restaurants and the works of talented local artists. Enjoy adventure or reflection – relaxing in nature, browsing for that perfect gift, or the thrill of waterskiing or tubing on the many lakes or hitting the trails in the winter both snowmobile and/or cross-country skis.

The stunning backdrop of forests and lakes are matched only by the community spirit of the District of Lakeland. Encompassing Christopher, Emma and Anglin Lake, and the Village of Christopher Lake, the area boasts fabulous year-round recreation, shopping and dining, and includes a variety of exciting events. Take in the festivities and parade in early August during Western Days in the Village of Christopher Lake. On Labour Day, watch the fireworks over Emma Lake at Sunset Beach Resort.

The District of Lakeland is home to Saskatchewan’s newest provincial park – Great Blue Heron Provincial Park – located at Anglin and Emma Lakes. The park offers camping, picnic areas, boat launches, beaches, hiking and cross-country ski trails. Keen eyes may even spot the park’s namesake standing statue-like along the shore of the lakes, streams and ponds in the area. For other wildlife watching opportunities, keep an eye out for moose, bear, white-tailed deer and red fox that are commonly seen in the area.
