There are a number of ways to get to our regions. Find the option that suits you below. International travelers should be aware of the following:

  • Saskatchewan is on Central Standard Time (UTC/GMT -6) year round, we do not observe daylight savings
  • Currency is Canadian Dollars, but some locations will accept US currency
  • Power is 120VAC, 60Hz
  • Service charges/gratuities are typically not included in your restaurant bill, and it is customary to tip your server 15 per cent

    By Road

  • Access to our region by vehicle is plentiful and paved! Travelling 30 minutes North from Prince Albert on Highway 2 North gets you into the Lakeland area and the Village of Christopher Lake, with access to Emma Lake and Great Blue Heron Provincial Park’s Murray Point Campground.

  • Big River is accessible from Prince Albert, by taking Highway 3 West to the town of Shellbrook, then following Highway 55 West. Big River is also accessible from the West through the City of Meadow Lake, then follow Highway 55 East.

  • Driving 50 minutes North of Prince Albert on Highway #2 North, then turning on to Highway #264 brings you to Elk Ridge Resort. Just 5 minutes more brings you into the Prince Albert National Park at the East Gate. An alternate route is via Scenic Route #263, through the village of Christopher Lake, bringing you in through the South Gate

  • The closest international airport is the John G. Diefenbaker International Airport in Saskatoon (www.skyxe.ca). The airport is serviced by a number of airlines who offer direct and connecting flights to destinations around the world.
  • The province’s second international airport is further south at Regina International Airport (www.yqr.ca).
  • The City of Prince Albert and its municipal airport (www.princealbertairport.com), is serviced by a number of airlines and offers connections to Regina and Saskatoon.
